Where is it from?
Bella Vista, Bruselas, Colombia
Located in Bruselas, in the Huila region of Colombia, Belle Vista is the farm of producer Jhonatan Gasca, where he focuses on producing high-quality specialty coffees with distinctive and expressive flavour profiles.
You’ll often find his coffees on the barista competition stage 😉
The Geisha variety grown at Belle Vista is known for its exceptional aromatic complexity and ability to express delicate fruit and floral characteristics. In this lot, those qualities come through in the form of stone fruit and raspberry, followed by a distinctive purple-fruit character and a subtle cacao nib finish. This coffee reflects the potential of Huila’s high-quality coffee-growing environment, combining a silky, structured body with bright but rounded acidity and pronounced fruit character.
Fermentation & Processing:
Extended Natural
For this lot, the coffee is processed using an Extended Natural method, allowing the coffee cherries to remain intact during fermentation and drying. This style of processing encourages greater interaction between the fruit and the coffee seed, helping to develop the intense fruit character and sweetness found in the cup.
The extended fermentation and drying process allows the coffee to develop layered fruit flavours and greater complexity, while careful handling helps preserve the clarity and structure of the Geisha variety.
The result is a coffee that combines juicy stone-fruit and raspberry notes with deeper purple-fruit characteristics and a delicate cacao nib finish, balanced by a silky body and bright, rounded acidity.
